Members
The Natural Resources Economic Development Board shall consist of seven members. The members shall be appointed by the Jackson County Board.
Overview
Purpose
The Natural Resources Economic Development Board shall possess the following duties but in no circumstance shall it bind the county to any agreement or contract or expend public money:
- Act as a liaison between the Jackson County Board and state and federal agencies;
- Keep a record of the total acres of land and water accessible in Jackson County to the public;
- Coordinate with established economic development organizations and municipalities to develop an eco-tourism marketing plan;
- Identify funding opportunities related to its purpose and goals; and
- Collaborate with local organizations to connect manpower for improvement and maintenance projects in Jackson County.
Conditions on Membership
Every member shall have experience in the following: conservation, tourism, economic development, marketing, or a related field.
Terms
Members serve five-year, staggered terms.
