Probation

The Probation Department staff provides services to both Juveniles and Adults who have been ordered by the Court to abide by certain conditions as part of a sentence. Those conditions may include counseling, curfews, public service work, electronic monitoring, drug testing, and payment of restitution and fines. Other conditions are added as determined necessary by the Courts.

It is the mission of the Jackson County Probation Department to serve the community, in concert with the Judiciary and other criminal justice and social service agencies by; providing a comprehensive system of quality programs and services which are responsive to constitutional and statutory requirements; which reflect judicial priorities and community needs; all founded on sound evidence-based principles. The First Judicial Circuit Probation District strives to be an integral component of a fair and efficient system of justice, committed to excellence, and a catalyst for the development of life and social skills of our clients, regardless of race, gender, or circumstances.
