The Jail has utilized a Video Visitation System for visitation. All visits are subject to recording and monitoring.

  1. Inmates are allowed 1 free onsite visit per week. Paid home visits are currently unlimited.
  2. A total of 3 people can be scheduled to visit an inmate at one time. All 3 people must be registered including children.
  3. Visits will be for 30 minutes.
  4. All children (under the age of 18 years of age) must be accompanied by an adult and must possess a copy of the child's birth certificate.
  5. All visitors must possess a valid photo ID, such as a Driver's License, or State ID Card.
  6. Behavioral problems will result in the visit being terminated.
  7. Appropriate dress is required at all times.
  8. There will be no extended visits.
  9. Visitors found to repost visits to any form of social media will be subject to being banned from visitation.
  10. If a crime is being committed during the visit it will be reported to proper authorities.
  11. Visiting hours are from 10 am to 11 pm every day.
    1. Visitation is conducted via Smart Communications Video Visitation.
    2. Inmates receive one free 30-minute visit per week conducted onsite.
    3. Additional visits can be purchased through Smart Communications at the link listed below.
    4. Purchased visits are conducted from home using an approved smart device such as a tablet, smartphone, laptop computer, or PC with a camera and audio equipment.
    5. Inmates are allowed to receive visits after they have been in custody for 24 hours.
    6. Visitors are subject to a 24-hour wait for approval to visit.
    7. Visitors will be required to have their P.I.N. with them to conduct a visit.
    8. Visitors must know what terminal they have been assigned to visit.
    9. This information is given upon completion of the scheduling of the visit.
    10. It is the visitor’s responsibility to retain this information for their scheduled visit.
    11. The visitation terminal is located in the front lobby of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
  12. The calendar week runs from Sunday through Saturday.

By Mail

  • All personal mail sent to an inmate must be properly addressed to include your valid return address information of:
    • Name
    • Address
    • City
    • State
    • Zip Code
  • Failure to properly address the envelope will result in the mail being returned to the sender.
  • No nicknames in the address areas are acceptable.
  • All personal mail should be addressed as follows:
    • Smart Communications / Jackson county Jail
    • JOHN DOE #123456 (this is an example name and ID number)
    • P.O. Box 9212
    • Seminole, FL 33775-9137
  • Once the mail is received at the mail center it will be digitally scanned and available to be viewed on tablets.
  • Failure to properly address the envelope may result in your mail being returned or delayed.

  • Pictures, drawings, etc. will be accepted for scanning, printed, and delivered in the same manner.

  • Anything that cannot be scanned will be returned to the sender.

  • This includes, but is not limited to, paper that exceeds 8.5 x 11 inches and all non-paper items.

  • All packages, certified mail, and checks/money orders will be returned to the sender.

  • Any member of the public sending any personal mail who wishes to have it returned to them must include a self-addressed and stamped envelope included with the original mail.
