The Jackson County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) exists by state mandate to carry out the functions of maintaining chemical inventories of fixed facilities within the county, complying with the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA) and planning for hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incident response and notification.
The original membership of the LEPC was recommended by the Chairman of the Jackson County Board for approval by the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC), which in Illinois is the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
Requests for fixed facility chemical information, or submission of Tier II reports may be made to the LEPC at:
