New Business

Hunter said the County Board Chairman asked her to inform the Mental Health Board that Jackson County is having financial difficulties at the moment and may be taking out tax anticipation warrants.  In light of increasing costs with the County's health insurance, public safety funding has to increase, the revenue from court fines is down and the possible tax warrants the Mental Health levy allocation may be decreased.  They wanted the Mental Health Board to know this in advance of them determining funding for FY2020.  This could mean the Mental Health Board would only have about half the funding they had in FY2019.

The Mental Health Board was reminded that the Public Hearing is set for July 15, 2019 at 5:30pm.  Agencies were reminded that their FY2020 funding applications are due on June 14th, 2019 by 4pm.

Nomination of Officers

It is time for the Board to make nominations for officers.  Willis stated that she would be willing to stay as Vice-Chair.  The Board asked that an email be sent prior to the July meeting asking for nominations.  Elections will be held at the July meeting.

Review of 1 and 3 year goals

The Board reviewed their goals and decided that they would like to ask for a representative from the Health Department and one from SIH to come to a meeting to discuss trends in mental health in Jackson County.

Executive Session

Willis informed the committee that Seymor Bryson has passed away and he was a long time member of the Mental Health Board.  A card will be sent on behalf of the Mental Health Board to his family.

Thomas moved and Hunter seconded to adjourn, motion carried.
