The Jackson County Board of Review is responsible for hearing all complaints from county property owners, notifying the owners or affected parties of scheduled hearings on the complaints, recording the proceedings, and issuing a determination on whether the assessments should be altered. To appeal an assessment an Assessment Appeal form must be submitted to the Jackson County Board of Review. To correct a factual error after receiving the tax bill please submit a Certificate of Error form. Please note that this form cannot be used to protest the amount of the tax bill or the value of the property. This can only be used to correct actual errors on your property record card or exemptions not received. Details of the Board's duties are described in the Illinois Department of Revenue (DOR) Regulations.
